What We Provide
At Leaning Tree Farms, we handle everything from start to finish — including procuring, pasturing, finishing, and delivering your steer for processing.
Free Home Delivery: Packaged beef is delivered to your door at no extra charge within 350 miles of our farm. If you live farther out, we’re happy to work with you to make arrangements.
How Much Beef to Expect: A finished steer typically weighs around 1,100 pounds live, which yields about 650 pounds hanging weight and roughly 400 pounds of packaged beef. Note: Every animal is unique. Hanging weight may vary by up to ±200 pounds. Pricing is based on hanging weight, not per animal.
Our beef is pasture-raised and grass-finished right here on our farm, in a low-stress, natural environment that supports healthy growth and incredible flavor.

Our Pricing
Processing & Delivery:
Processing is scheduled to take place in October. A cut sheet with explanations for all available cut choices will be sent to you around August 1st . The price to process your animal will vary based on your cut selections, but $1.67 / per hanging pound is the average price.
Please be advised, for ⅛ orders, you will not have the option of choosing your cuts. We will do our best to ensure you receive a variety of cuts but will not be able to guarantee your preferences.
Delivery of your packaged meat is expected to take place in November. The exact delivery date and time will be arranged with you as soon as processing is complete.
Freezer Space: As a general rule of thumb, you can expect to need 1 cubic foot of freezer space per 25 pounds of packaged meat. For beef, that would normally translate to 15 cubic feet of freezer space needed per whole animal. Please keep in mind however that each animal is unique!
